Our D.C. Concealed Carry Renewal course meets the recertification training requirements for renewing a District of Columbia Concealed Carry Pistol License. This six-hour course includes four hours of classroom instruction and two hours of supervised range training. You’ll review firearm safety, D.C. and federal firearms laws, self-defense law, prohibited locations, transportation requirements, responsible carrying practices, safe handgun handling, marksmanship, and live-fire proficiency. Upon successful completion of the classroom and range requirements, you’ll receive the training certificate needed for your renewal application. Training is provided by an MPD-certified firearms instructor committed to your safety, legal compliance, and continued success as a responsible permit holder. D.C. concealed carry licenses are valid for two years, and MPD recommends submitting your renewal approximately 45 days before your current license expires.
