Service Description
Complete the required eight-hour Maryland Wear & Carry Permit renewal training. This in-person course reviews Maryland firearm laws, responsible carry, prohibited locations, home firearm safety, handgun mechanisms and operation, use of force, conflict avoidance, safe handling, and shooting fundamentals. Students must complete the live-fire requalification by firing a minimum of 25 rounds at no more than 15 yards and achieving a minimum score of 70%. Students receive a completed MSP 29-14 Certified Qualification Score Sheet after successful completion. Training is provided by a Maryland Qualified Handgun Instructor. Cancellation Policy
MARYLAND WEAR & CARRY RENEWAL BOOKING AND CANCELLATION POLICY BOOKING AND PAYMENT Registration opens 90 days before class and closes 48 hours before class. Full payment of $200 is required when booking. Registrations are nontransferable. CANCELLATIONS Cancellations received at least 48 hours before class are eligible for a $150 refund. A $50 administrative fee will be deducted. Cancellations received less than 48 hours before class are nonrefundable. The full $200 course payment will be forfeited because classroom space, range time, ammunition and targets have been reserved. RESCHEDULING One rescheduling request is permitted without charge when requested at least 48 hours before class. The replacement course must be completed within 90 days of the original date and is subject to availability. A second rescheduling request requires a $50 fee. Requests received less than 48 hours before class require a new registration and payment. NO-SHOWS AND LATE ARRIVALS Students who fail to attend will forfeit the full course payment. No additional no-show fee will be charged. Students arriving more than 10 minutes late will not be admitted and will be considered no-shows. Maryland requires completion of the prescribed training hours; therefore, missed instructional time cannot be made up during the scheduled course. STUDENT REQUIREMENTS Students must present valid government-issued photo identification and their current Maryland Wear & Carry Permit. Students must attend the entire course, follow all safety instructions and successfully complete the required live-fire qualification. Students bringing a personally owned handgun must transport it lawfully. All firearms and ammunition are subject to instructor and range inspection before use. COURSE COMPLETION Training documentation will be issued only after the student completes all classroom, safety and live-fire requirements. Course completion does not guarantee permit renewal. The Maryland State Police determines applicant eligibility and permit approval. COURSE CHANGES Alpha Defense may cancel or reschedule a course because of insufficient enrollment, instructor illness, range availability, severe weather or circumstances beyond its control. If Alpha Defense cancels the course, students may transfer to another available renewal course without charge or receive a full refund.
