Service Description
Complete the Maryland State Police-approved 16-hour firearms safety training required for eligible original Wear & Carry Permit applicants. Classroom instruction is conducted live through real-time, two-way audio and video. Prerecorded instruction does not qualify. Students must complete the required hands-on training and live-fire qualification in person. The qualification includes a minimum of 25 rounds fired at no more than 15 yards, with a minimum score of 70% required to pass. Hybrid training is not 100% online. Training is provided by a Maryland Qualified Handgun Instructor. Cancellation Policy
MARYLAND HYBRID WEAR & CARRY BOOKING AND CANCELLATION POLICY BOOKING AND PAYMENT Registration opens 90 days before the course and closes 48 hours before the first Zoom session. Full payment of $335 is required when booking. Registrations are nontransferable. CANCELLATIONS Cancellations received at least 48 hours before the first Zoom session are eligible for a $260 refund. A $75 administrative fee will be deducted. Cancellations received less than 48 hours before the first session are nonrefundable. The full $335 payment will be forfeited because virtual-classroom space, practical training, range time, ammunition and targets have been reserved. RESCHEDULING One rescheduling request is permitted without charge when requested at least 48 hours before the first session. The replacement course must be completed within 90 days and is subject to availability. A second rescheduling request requires a $75 fee. Late requests require a new registration and payment. ATTENDANCE This is a live, instructor-led hybrid course—not a self-paced or completely online course. Students must complete all scheduled Zoom instruction and the required in-person practical training and live-fire qualification. Students cannot combine portions from different course dates without prior approval. Failure to attend or complete any required portion will result in forfeiture of the course payment. No additional no-show fee will be charged. Students joining more than 10 minutes late will not be admitted. ZOOM REQUIREMENTS Students must join using their legal name, present valid government-issued photo identification and remain visible on camera throughout instruction. A working camera, microphone and reliable internet connection are required. Students may not participate while driving, working or performing unrelated activities. Recording, photographing or distributing course content is prohibited. Student technology problems do not excuse missed instructional time. RANGE REQUIREMENTS Students must follow all safety rules and successfully complete the required live-fire qualification. Personally owned firearms and ammunition are subject to instructor and range inspection. COURSE COMPLETION Training documents are issued only after all requirements are completed. The Maryland State Police determines permit eligibility and approval. COURSE CHANGES If Alpha Defense cancels the course, students may transfer without charge or receive a full refund.
